The methods I use
Diagnosis does not end with looking, and a procedure is safe when the method is chosen correctly. Below I explain the main methods I use for examinations and procedures, and what they mean for you.

Each method in its place
The same growth can be removed with a laser or with liquid nitrogen, but each has its own indications. I choose the method not by the device but by the type and location of the growth and by your skin.

Examination
Painless methods that take a few minutes and clarify the diagnosis.

Dermoscopy
I examine moles, pigment spots and other growths with an illuminated magnifier. It helps to spot suspicious changes early and to follow how a mole develops. It is especially important for growths that change, grow or differ in colour or shape.
- Painless
- Moles
- Early detection

Trichoscopy
I see the hair and scalp magnified: hair thickness, the state of the follicles, inflammation and scaling. It is used to tell types of hair loss apart and to follow treatment.

- Hair loss
- Scalp
Procedures
Methods used after an examination, when indicated, without cutting.

Cryotherapy
Warts, corns, papillomas and some benign growths are frozen and destroyed with liquid nitrogen. No cutting is needed, anaesthesia is usually unnecessary, and there is a short, cold burning feeling. Deep warts may need several sessions.
- No cutting
- Warts and corns
- A few minutes

Fotona laser
Laser energy for removing skin growths and stimulating hair follicles. In hair loss, especially early androgenetic alopecia, I use it as an add-on to the main treatment.
- Precise
- Growths
- Hair stimulation

Coagulation
Controlled removal of small benign growths such as skin tags and papillomas with high temperature. The procedure is quick, and a thin crust remains for a few days.
- Quick procedure
- Papillomas
- Skin tags

Dermapen
Very fine needles open controlled micro-channels in the skin and stimulate its own repair processes. It is done as a course, with a sterile single-use tip, for acne scars, enlarged pores and skin texture.

Which method suits you?
We decide that together after the examination. I base it on your skin and the type of growth, not on the device.
